Hello everyone
In this post
I'm going to make a reflection about the last lesson. It was focused on Poetry.
I would like to research about how e can change the perspective of this because
most of children do not feel attraction with poetry and I want to give to some resources
to get the maximum efficiency.
Poetry consisted
on a type of literature, also it is written in verse, as opposed to prose,
often written in metrical lines. These written are called poems. They usually have
a rhythm, rhyme, metaphor, and other such artistic techniques to express an
idea, feelings, or a story. But all is this, often is very bored and frustrated
to children because they do not understand the vocabulary that use or how they
have to do to create one.
Have you
ever wondered how to get your students excited about poetry?
The Poetry Teaching
Resources offers a lot of variety of materials to help us and our students to
teach this.
Here you'll
find graphic organizers and other resources to assist you and your students in
exploring the power of poetry.
· Literary Moods
· Literary Mood Ring Graphic Organizer
· Friendship Cinquain Activity
· Poetry Terminology Cards
Also, there
are some books that can help it. For example:
·
Poetry Matters by Ralph Fletcher
Poetry
Matters is the most amazing book that as teacher as students can feel a little comfortable.
It will change the way you think about poetry. It is ideal to use to in second
year. The author shows why´s important in writing poetry because poets can
break the rules so kids who normally have trouble writing seem to excel in
writing free verse.
·
Poetry Books by Kristine O'Connell George
Kristine
O'Connell George is another favorite children's author and poet. She writes
simple yet beautiful poems that reach out to kids and connect with them.
I hope that like my post. THANCK YOU
ANDREA
