The last
week in class we researched different authors. The author that we had to investigate
was Beatrix Potter.
She is born
the 28th July on 1866. She lived in Kensington, London. She was an English
author, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist best known for her
imaginative children’s books featuring animals in which she represented British
landscape and country life.
So, like a
good illustrator she begun when she was a child, Beatrix Potter was encouraged
to draw. She spent many hours making intricate childhood sketches of animals
and plants, revealing an early fascination for the natural world which would
continue throughout her life.
Beatrix
Potter kept many different kinds of pets such as rabbits, hedgehogs, mice,
lizards, newts, frogs, bats and toads. When she wrote and illustrated her Peter
Rabbit books, she knew all about the animal characters that she was creating as
a result of having watched her own pets and their behaviour.
Her great book
was The Tale of Peter Rabbit. It is a British children's book written and
illustrated by Beatrix Potter that follows mischievous and disobedient young
Peter Rabbit as he is chased about the garden of Mr. McGregor. He escapes and
returns home to his mother who puts him.
Moreover
it is so popular because there was a cartoon too about it.
To conclude,
in my opinion I think that Beatrix Potter is a good author to use with children
because use to points that are near of them. One of them is that she show their
tale in little animal like mouse, rabbits, cats… and the other is she use a
familiar context to create a special climax nearer. Besides, with her
illustrations she show very well what happen
in each moment.
